Leanovations Announces a Lean Leadership Certification Program January 5-9, 2009


PLAINVILLE, CT – Leanovations announces a Lean Leadership Certification program to support the Connecticut’s Center for Advanced Technologies Inc. (CCAT) and Connecticut Center for Manufacturing Supply Chain Integration (CMSCI) initiative to assist the manufacturers in the aerospace and defense sector, and strengthen Connecticut’s companies to effectively compete and improve their overall competitiveness in the world economy.

Leanovations Lean Leadership Certification program is for manufacturing professionals leading Lean initiatives who want to equip themselves with the skills necessary to be effective change agents and Lean implementers. The program consists of a 5-day interactive workshop, where three or the five days will be at facilities recognized as Lean Leaders in Connecticut and in their industry. The participants will see first hand the application of the Lean tools and techniques acquired during the workshop, at the facilities that are Lean Leaders. The Leanovations Lean Leadership Certification program provides growth in the participant’s Lean knowledge, skills, and professional competencies that may lead to the participants meeting CMSCI’s ADI Internal Lean Expert Qualification.

The 5-Day workshop will begin Monday January 5, 2009 at the Centennial Inn Conference Center in Farmington, Connecticut, with the next three days (January 6-8) at a different Lean Leaders facilities, and the participants will end and graduate from the program on Friday, January 9th, 2009 again at the Centennial Inn in Farmington, Connecticut. The cost of the training could be funded at 50% and reimbursable if done as part of an ADI project, where normal ADI project approval through the CMSCI process applies. Leanovations will assist participants in applying for an ADI project.

CCAT’S CMSCI offers grants to assist aerospace and defense companies in the introduction or continuation of Lean manufacturing techniques within their organizations. Companies can receive a 50% reimbursement of the cost for a Lean Kaizen event by an external registered Lean service provider such as Leanovations, who meets the qualification of CMSCI’s Aerospace and Defense Initiative ADI.
